Mahaprasad and Bhog

Temple devotees prepare delicious vegetarian mahaprasad for deities. It is offered to deities and distributed among devotees and guests. The prasad offered is pure vegetarian without garlic, onions, mushrooms etc. We love to invite you all, come and be a part of this.

It is prepared and distributed every Sunday evening after Evening Aarti at 7.00 PM and on various events organized by the temple.

Sponsoring Mahaprasad and Bhog

You are welcomed to sponsor Bhog offered to the God and distributed among guests and congregation members. Temple has state of the art kitchen, utensils and all necessary equipment to prepare it.

Submit Mahaprasad sponsor request by clicking here or contact one of the executive committee members. Following protocol needs to be followed to sponsor and prepare Bhog or Mahaprasad. 

  • All food must be vegetarian. All items free from gelatin, lard or rennet.

  • No use of onions, garlic, mushrooms, eggs and masoor dal. 

  • Members should cook the food themselves at Mandir premises.

  • Participating kitchen help must have taken a bath and wear proper clothing (No Shorts, Skirts, Half Paints, etc.)

  • Please cover all the food after cooking.

  • After cooking please make sure all utensils and kitchen is clean.

  • Food must be cooked same day (except sweets which can be made one day prior)

  • We request all hosts to make sure that used serving utensils are taken back in kitchen, kitchen is clean and left over food is properly covered

  • Sweets and chapati ordered and made especially for Bhog or Prasad is acceptable

Safety at Temple's Kitchen and Prasad Distribution

  • All participants must use some footwear.

  • Protect yourself and your clothes from hot oil and fire.

  • In Case of Emergency CALL 911.

After making and distribution of Mahaparsad, temple hires part time workers to clean utensils, dining area and sanitize kitchen. Also, Temple buys disposable supplies for distribution of Mahaprasad and Bhog. Suggested minimum donation is $150 to cover that cost.

If devotee is unable to prepare Mahaparsad or Bhog, Temple may arrange cooks who can buy supplies and cook on your behalf in Temple's Kitchen as per above stated protocol. Suggested minimum donation for this is $1,000 for a single sponsoring family or if there are more than one sponsors, $1,000 can be equally divided. 

Temple is registered as Non Profit Organization, Temple issues a donation receipt of food for 300 guests to sponsor of Sunday Mahaprasad or large celebrations and for 100 guests to sponsor of any other regular events like Mata Ki Chowki, Namahatta, etc.
